The team next begin a search for a suitable home base, away from the Trumpler 4 station, where they can hide when necessary. Their search takes them to the Lota Delitiri Nebula, a secluded area of Red Sector A with a small system containing a single known planet called Eretus.

Within the deep space station of the system, the team encounter a small cew who have little to say about their destination. Shortly before departing the station, a man claiming to be a scientist approaches the team asking for asylum. He claims he was working on the planet's surface and is scared to death to return and will pay any sum he can muster to be taken away. The team offer him a ride and, against his protestations descend to the surface of the planet.

On Eretus, a long dead alien world, the team discover that the expedition this runaway scientist fears returning to is owned by the Triumph Company. They appear to be looking for something and the team stealthily observe the expedition, eventually discovering why they are there. Alien synthetics seem to be running loose on Eretus.

Using a massive alien weapon, the lead scientist deconstructs one of the alien synthetics, a large dog like creature with extra appendages sporting pincers on the ends. 

​

At that moment, Ochi pulls the trigger on his sniper rifle, assassinating the scientist. The rest scatter and the team retrieve the remains of the alien synthetic and the massive weapon and retreat to their ship, all the while unable to shake the distinct feeling they're being watched.
