The Ang clan ready themselves to leave Selos 2. Armo Ang tells Iris she should come with them to continue her work, which he explains is very important to the rebellion. She agrees. On October 1 they head out as the Selosian fleet launches to engage the blockade fleet. The entire Ang clan arrives on O'Render and take over the Premier's palatial quarters after Laton Grigg, son of the Premier assassinated his own father.

 

The Selosian diaspora sweeps across the sector, bringing war to every Church controlled system, taking most by surprise, wiping out large portions of the sector military and breaking the back of the Church Naval forces.

 

Almost immediately after their return from testing the Drill Drug, Clarissa and Preem volunteer for and are taken on a mission to assassinate Ariannie Exo. Preem helps himself to a few doses of the Drill Drug and they are off to the Eserriedus system and the planet Actaia, where the latest intel places Exo's flagship, the MV Every Last Woman.

 

Once in system, Clarissa and Preem convince the ship's commander to let them attempt the assassination. The captain agrees and the duo are given a shuttle to make their approach. At a suitable distance, the pair set off on an unpowered ballistic trajectory to infiltrate the flagship. Once outside the ship, Clarissa teleports them into the engineering section where they take out a couple of unsuspecting crewmembers. 

 

Using his enhanced vision, Preem locates his target, the Doyen General Ariannie Exo, his biological mother. He sneaks into the room, disabling a crewman and confronts his mother. She is reluctant to listen but after a few minutes she accepts what Preem is telling her and takes the Drill Drug he offers. They go to a small base on the Manamer moon of Rukarif called Pital 1 in the Unnhild system. He leaves her there and returns to the ship to destroy it.

 

With the mission "accomplished" they return to O'Render and tell Iris what has happened. The three agree to go to Jelq and confront the Dow Saffer to discover the truth about everything going on around them.
