GRAV-NET COMBAT BOOTS

Grav-Net is a proprietary Sector Military technology, which arrests the descent of the equipped item to a maximum of 4 feet per second, or about 2.5 miles per hour. This speed is called "safe descent."

In military application, Grav-Net technology is most often equipped to combat boots. The size and weight of the module are negligible, however a standby power supply (type A) will be completely consumed within just 10 seconds of continual use.

From terminal velocity (approx. 280 mph for the standard field uniform with rifle), safe descent speed can be attained at between 3 and 5 seconds, depending on the weight of the subject. A pair of Grav-Net equipped boots will have no more than 2 uses (as little as a single use, depending on load) before requiring a new battery.

The maximum weight a Grav-Net pair of combat boots can decelerate to a safe descent speed is 375 pounds. Any more weight will burn out the power supply before safe descent is attained, causing injury, or possible death.
